L’Aber Wrac’h

I had waited out the storm and left with the tide to pass through the somewhat scary Chenal de l’Île de Batz. Once inside it wasn’t as scary as on the chart. The wind was supposed to be variable and very little but we made good progress under sail. After a while it died completely and we motored for a bit but the wind came back. Out of the west of course. But we had the tide with us and no real waves (except for some large atlantic rollers that were a welcome change).

So tacking against the wind went better than ever and it turned out to be a perfect sailing day. The sun was out all day. I was wearing only my shorts, a t-shirt and the life vest. I also got a good sunburn. All very new and welcome (much longed for) experiences. Summer seems to be here. At least for a while.
After turning into the Grand Chenal we were able to sail all the way to L’Aber Wrac’h up to the Harbor entrance. Because the Harbor was pretty full and expensive and the wind was picking up and I was only ging to be here for one night and…and…and… (I was really only scared of a docking manoeuvre in a very confined space), I decided to pickup a mooring buoy and take it easy.
