I had picked Zissi up from the train station and we celebrated our reunion after half a year with dinner that I had prepared on board and a few medium cold beers. We spent a beautiful day exploring Lemvig together and left the next day when the weather really turned to shit. The forecast was for very unstable weather for a longer time so we decided that we might as well take off. There are no big waves in the Limfjord so that wasn’t a problem but we were fighting with 45knot gusts and the Windex wind indicator broke right off the masttop.

We made it to the the Oddesundbridge just in time for the opening and behind the bridge there was a lot less wind and the evening turned out beautiful. We dropped the anchor in Lysen Bredning and had dinner in a very calm sunset. A big fat cumulonimbus cloud was advancing toward us and I decided to let out a bit more chain. We had thunderstorms and lightning and 30kn gusts all through the night but the anchor held and our place was relatively quiet.

The next was a beautiful day but there was little wind and so we had a slow sail to the island of Livø where we found a perfect spot in the tiny harbour. We walked into town to pay the harbour dues at the local Købmand and got ourselves a beer (Livøl). We then took a longer walk across the mostly deserted island and got back on board at dusk where we had dinner.

Thursday was a good sailing day. We had taken off early from Livø to make it in time for the bridge opening of the Aggersundbroen. We were even able to sail the major part of the narrow channel until the wind turned against us and then died. By that time we had almost made it to Aalborg where we went into the Frihavn on the western side. I went up the mast to collect the remains of our windex in order to maybe get a replacement in town. In the harbour we stumbled upon Christa and Hans Peter who I had already met in Lemvig and who had passed us on the way.
We took a walk into town (no windex replacement unfortunately) and listened to a very cool blues band who were playing in a square. It started to rain so we got ourselves a beer and watched and listened from under an awning.

On Friday we went back into Aalborg to check out the city and buy some groceries. We left at 3:30pm to continue to the eastern end of the fjord where we arrived with the setting sun and anchored.
